VRFX Toronto

220 King St W, Ste 200

Thursday, June 23rd, 7pm

It’s a big year for VR. With 360-degree video, Cinematic VR can transport us — and when done well — excite the senses and inspire empathy. The technology exceeds our imaginations and the hustle is on to deliver lasting impressions while staying ahead of the curve.

To drive that conversation and bring members of our VR & VFX community together, Cut&Paste is partnering with The Foundry on VRFX, an evening of creative play. Half presentation and half participation, this invite-only event showcases select VR projects and poses a fun, creative challenge to explore the impact elements like compositing, visual effects, and sound can make in VR. The event is supported with The Foundry’s NUKE 10 on Lenovo Thinkstations with Wacom Cintiq 22HDs. New techniques explored, new friendships made, beers consumed.

Sounds like Cut&Paste.

The event is Free-of-Charge and Invite-Only

Firstborn has been pioneers in emerging technology for nearly 20 years. We craft stories and experiences that resonate with the consumer – stories and experiences that solve real business challenges. With virtual reality we help marketers navigate this emerging and ever-in-flux landscape to craft the right story with the right technology leading to best-in-class experiences.

The Art of Patrón by Firstborn is a first-of-its-kind Virtual Reality experience that combines live action VR filming with vivid, cinematic CG. With Patrón’s signature bee as the guide, fans watch the entire artisanal process unfold from the bee’s unique point-of-view as it chases an agave plant from the fields and follows it to Hacienda Patrón where its transformed into premium tequila.

Occupied VR specializes in the production of 360 virtual reality content, wielding cutting-edge technology to deliver a new frontier of innovative storytelling and gaming. Supported platforms include the Oculus Rift, Samsung Gear VR, HTC Vive, and Google Cardboard.
